Hi Brad and Brad,
I find myself with the
rare of occasion of having time to myself, while in my parents basement
in Missouri. It's hard for me to be left alone without anything to do.
That's when my thoughts really get the best of me. Most of my time I
try to keep myself occupied so I don't go down a path of sadness. It's
like falling into quicksand and the harder you try to get out of it, the
farther you sink. So I'm using this time to write you guys again.
It's been a good way of keeping myself out of feeling like I'm sinking.
I've
been thinking quite a bit about the "Untitled' track on the Live on Two
Legs compilation you touched upon while going over MFC during the Yield
review. I looked up the lyric on "Songmeanings" and found the
following (https://songmeanings.com/songs/view/3530822107859019075/).
I wish I could see this during a show live. It seems like an ad lib,
but I now more associate it in the same way I do with Interstellar
Overdrive and Corduroy.
Oh get
me out of here, Get out
of here fast.
Everyone's
confused, I see
'em from my room.
I wanna
go, But I
don't want to go alone.
I hope
you get this message
When
you're not home
I could
be there in 28 minutes or so.
You
don't have to take no offense.
We'll
make it up as we go.
If I
go, I don't
want to go...Alone.
With
you...I could
never...
Lately
I feel like I've been wanting solitary, so that's caused me to
gravitate toward songs like In Hiding, Off He Goes and MFC. I'll tell
myself while at work, I just wish I could jump in my car and just drive
off somewhere I haven't been and just spend the day alone doing
something I haven't done before. I'm not looking for anything crazy, it
would just be as simple as visiting a small Wisconsin town I've never
been to and visiting one of their local sites. However, it's not that
easy to just drop everything and go. As much as I wish that I could and
I'm sure several other people wish they could too. This lyric in MFC
speaks to how I feel most of the time in the middle of the day.
They said... timing was everything, made him
Want to be everywhere, there's a
Lot to be said for nowhere
Want to be everywhere, there's a
Lot to be said for nowhere
You can
think of so many other places you'd rather be. However, sometimes I
will just drive off in the middle of the day and sit in my car for a
while. That's my "nowhere." Unfortunately, most of the time that's the
only way I can find my solitary.
Forced to endure, what I could not forgive,
Chris
